Meet the Houston Team Behind Brock Garage Doors Houston

We’re an independently owned and operated garage door repair shop in Houston, and we agreed to work to The Garrison Standard when we opened our doors. That means every technician you see at your home has passed a background check, wears a uniform, and carries a written price before any tool comes off the truck. The crew you’ll meet on this page is the actual team that answers when you call (325) 308-2009 for garage door repair, opener repair, or cable repair in Houston.

Our People

Wade Mercer, Owner

Wade started turning wrenches on garage doors before most of his current crew finished high school, and he’s been at this long enough to know that a repair either gets done right or it doesn’t. He runs the Houston location with a simple rule: if he wouldn’t put the price in writing and stand behind it for a full year, the job doesn’t happen. Wade handles the estimates that need a second set of eyes, and he still makes house calls when a job gets complicated. He’ll tell you straight if a repair is simple or if you’re looking at a bigger job than expected, and he’ll explain exactly why before anyone picks up a tool. He lives in the Houston area, and on weekends he’s usually under the hood of a truck that doesn’t need fixing as much as he needs the quiet.

Marcus T., Lead Technician

Marcus has been with Brock Garage Doors Houston for fourteen years, and he’s seen every failure mode a Houston garage door can throw at him. His specialty is torsion spring replacement, specifically the thick coiled springs mounted above the door that bear most of the lifting load, and he’s trained on LiftMaster, Chamberlain, Genie, Clopay, Amarr, Wayne Dalton, Craftsman, and Raynor systems. Marcus handles the training for new technicians and sets the pace on multi-job days. He’s the guy who can diagnose a problem by the sound a door makes over the phone, which saves our Houston customers a trip charge more often than they realize. Marcus is a barbecue purist, and he will debate you on oak versus mesquite until you admit he’s right.

Sofia R., Senior Installer

Sofia joined the team six years ago after running her own handywoman service, and she brought a level of finish carpentry precision that garage door work rarely gets. She leads full door replacements and opener upgrades, and she’s the reason our installs look clean from the curb and run quiet from inside the garage. Sofia is certified on Chamberlain and LiftMaster opener platforms and handles the trickier cable rerouting jobs that come through our Houston service area. She’s the one who notices the little things, like a track that’s three degrees out of level or a weather seal that’ll leak before the next big rain. Sofia keeps a notepad in her truck and sketches every custom bracket she’s ever had to fabricate, and she has a rescue dog named Socket.

Danny H., Service Coordinator

Danny is the voice you’ll usually hear when you call (325) 308-2009, because a live person answers around the clock and Danny works the line more than anyone. He’s not a technician by trade, but he’s spent nine years learning the terminology well enough to ask the right questions before a truck rolls, which means the tech who arrives usually has the right parts on board. Danny schedules every job, confirms every appointment window, and makes sure the written price goes out before any work starts. He’s the calm one on the phone when a Houston homeowner calls at 2 a.m. with a door that won’t close and a car parked inside, and he’s memorized the inventory on every truck in the fleet. Danny plays bass in a weekend band that nobody in the crew has actually seen perform.

One Standard, Every Job

The crew in Houston works to The Garrison Code, which is a set of operating rules the Garrison Partners network has used since 2001. Arrival windows are set before the tech leaves the shop. The written price is handed over before any work begins, and the number on that page matches the invoice. The site is cleaned before the truck pulls away. And every repair carries the 365-Day Done Right Promise in writing: if a covered repair fails within a full year, we return and correct it at no charge. That standard applies whether Marcus is replacing a torsion spring, Sofia is leveling a track, or Wade is walking a homeowner through why a cable replacement runs the way it does. We’re a local Houston shop, but the accountability behind the work is national, and that’s not a compromise. It’s the reason the trucks have our name on the door.
